Bonjour!

Welcome to this website where my French accent, Lebanese blood and Mediterranean appetite guide a bubbly kitchen in the heart of Miami, Florida.

Quick Mushrooms

Quick and easy mushroom fix! You can plan for this recipe and have it on your weekly menu, or use it to save the mushrooms you bought and did not get the chance to cook! Save the sad mushrooms… ;) The recipe is done in under 10 minutes.

You can also serve it as a side dish for grilled meats or an omelet.
Use extra virgin olive oil or butter, whatever you prefer. Both work perfectly.

Bon appétit!

Quick Sauteed Mushrooms

recipe credits: Rafaella Sargi
Serves 2

Ingredients
10 oz (240 g) white mushrooms, cleaned and cut in quarters
A generous pinch of sea salt
1 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil (or 1 teaspoon of butter)
1 garlic clove, finely chopped
2 thyme sprigs
Black pepper

Directions
Prep all the ingredients.
You will need a small frying pan.

Heat the frying pan over medium-high heat. Add the mushrooms with a generous pinch of sea salt. Let the mushroom cook and release their liquid. You need to do that over high heat so the water evaporates before it boils the mushrooms.
Once the mushroom pieces start browning and be sticky add the extra virgin olive oil (or butter), the chopped garlic, and the fresh thyme. Sauté for an additional minute or two, mixing.
Season with freshly ground black pepper.

Voila!
